OP – this is a super fine DWG, fun inclusion of the actual photographer, and spectacular sheet layout.
For those asking technically how this is done…
Setup at least Requires the Following
-
Plan
-
Station Point (where the view is seen from – camera position)
-
Picture Plane (horizontal line through plan – position arbitrary)
-
Horizon Line (where your 3D drawing will appear)
-
90 degree Cone of Vision (right angle originating at Station Pt)
-
Vanishing Points – Draw cone lines out until they intersect the picture plane. Draw straight up or down from those intersections to the horizon line. Where straight lines intersect horizon = Vanishing Points.
-
Projection of Visible Vertical Elements – Straight line drawn from SP to plan element will cross the PP at horizontal position where that element should be drawn. Draw intersection straight up or down to Horizon Line to get it closer to the correct vertical position.
-
Scale Points – where Picture plane intersects the edges of the plan, you can measure vertical distances on your drawing in the scale of the plan. Project those heights to the VPs to get horizontal elements.
-
View Height – Set an arbitrary height of your camera or eye for the view. That’s where your verticals will cross the horizon line at the Scale Points.
There’s obv. a bit more to it, but if you can parse the above, you can draw nearly anything in 3D with a plan.
